wolf_hierophant This is Rhythm Bastard's best song yet. It takes his pop punk sensibilities and leans into midwestern emo territory. It's incredibly catchy, and the mood really sucks you in.

And the way he hits "Fifth wheel" and "appeal" is stuck SO DEEP in my head, I was out with friends downtown last night and I could not help myself from blurting those lines out. Favorite track: Hop On.

about

One shot of Jaeger in, and I already regret coming out tonight
But if I said no again, my friends would only hate me forever
I'm a fifth wheel in a broken down lemon
I see the appeal of being in bed by 11

Just got canned and I stopped giving a damn
But Dan has a plan and a can in his hand
Said the drummer in the band said you got a hot van
Then he slapped me on the back and said

Hop on
They're the ride that you've been looking for
Swallow your pride
Hop on
I know you're feeling pretty bored
No need to hide

The last train out of here
The end of the line
Still I wonder what I'm leaving behind

The band's wrapped up the set, and that drummer looks down for anything
My palms begin to sweat, am I stuck with them forever
Heading my way, I'm a deer trapped in the headlights
I'm not OK, but they're beautiful in bar light

Feeling white as a sheet, as they pull up to my seat,
Tapping feet to the beat playing out in the street
Eyeing my meat while they order whiskey neat
they grabbed me by the ears and said

Hop on
I'm the ride that you've been looking for
Swallow your pride
Hop on
We go all night and pass out sore
No ticket to ride

The last train out of here
The end of the line
Still I wonder what I'm leaving behind

What's the worst that can happen?
Their hands upon my chest
Don't go by what you'd imagine
They're reaching for the rest

In just one moment your life could be gone,
You're at the station so why don't you just

Hop on
I'm the ride that you've been looking for
Swallow your pride
Hop on
We can wake up naked on the shore
See the sunrise

The last train out of here
The end of the line
Still I wonder what I'm leaving behind
